William Neal Lawson

Mr. William Neal Lawson, age 52, of mt. Airy, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at his home.  He was born on March 7, 1971, in Surry County to the late Kent and Hucie Watson Lawson.  Left to cherish his memory are his children, Morgan Lawson, Chase Lawson, Jordan Flippen, and Connor Locklear ; sisters, Faith McCreary (Wade), Trelesa “Weezy” Hodges; brother, Nathanael Lawson; nephews, Joseph O’Dell (Nikki), Roby O’Dell (Traci); many special aunts and uncles; his life partner, Valorie Walden; mentors and best friend, Clayton King; best friend, Stephen Hensley,  as well as numerous other special friends and family.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Ken Lawson, nephew, Anthony Reid McCreary.  A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.  We encourage you to wear colorful attire to celebrate him and the love that he represented.  In this life you make your own family, and you are all of ours.  “Make sure you bring all your toes” (Neal).  The family will receive friends starting at 12:30 PM on Friday.
