Born on December 18,1948 in Mount Airy, N.C.

William was the son of Kate Pack Ratcliff and Coy Edward Ratcliff. He was employed by Pike Electric for many years and after retirement, continued working at Surry County Landfill. JR was known for his strong work ethic and determination. He believed in the value of an honest days work and staying busy was simply a part of who he was.

JR is survived by his sister, Brenda Atkins; friend, Pam Bogle; children, Lorie Ann Harding, Rhonda Cooper (Stanley), William Ratcliff Jr. (Tina), Chase Ratcliff; Grandchildren, Samantha Bosley, Patrick Denbow, Tyler Denbow, Robert Cooper, Krista Price, Shane Price, Kevin Ratcliff and Reed Ratcliff; great grandchildren, James, Camryn, Carson, Kevin and Paisley.

JR's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
