William Robert Smith

Mr. William Robert Smith Age 76 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away October 13, 2014 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Smith was born March 20, 1938 in Patrick County, Va. to the late James Council and Dorothy Scales Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Smith was a retired bricklayer for John S. Clark and was of the Methodist Faith. Surviving are his mother Dorothy Scales Smith of the home, one very special brother and sister-in-law Wayne Jackson and Carole Smith of Mt. Airy, a special niece and her husband Christi and Travis Stevens of Mt. Airy, a nephew and his wife Jimmy and Ginger Smith of Mt. Airy, great nieces and nephews Samantha Stewart, Jackson Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Daniel Stevens, Kaila and Scott Lupinacci, Ashley and Tom Dunning, Aaron Collins, Jeremiah Collins and Jacob Smith, two great great nieces Juliana Lupinacci and Zoe Dunning. In addition to his father Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a niece Lisa Smith. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Dennis "Bud" Cameron and Rev. Alex Martin with graveside services to follow in the Oakdale Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post # 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post # 9436.
