Willie Mae Dorsett Corder, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning, November 12, 2024. Born February 5, 1925, to the late Roby and Seless “Lessie” Dorsett. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, NC is serving the Corder family. A devout Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Elkin, Willie volunteered as clerk and treasurer for the Elkin Baptist Association for 25 years. She treasured her “Cradle Roll” certificate, awarded to her by the church. She was a 1944 Elkin High School graduate. After graduation she then served as secretary for the Elkin Merchant Association and then was hired by the Town of Elkin in the administration department, where she worked for 43 years. She was also president of many local clubs and committees. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, Karen Neese and Randy; grandchildren, Seless Beasley and Daniel, and Jeremiah Neese; and great grandchild, Bennett Beasley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Corder; sisters, Alene Dorsett, Lucile Eurey, Betty Blanchard, and JoAnn Day; and brothers, Howard Dorsett, Ralph Dorsett, Glenn Dorsett, Alex Dorsett, and Fred Dorsett. Willie Corder will be laid to rest in a private service at Hollywood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Elkin at 110 Gwyn Ave, Elkin, NC 28621. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson, North Carolina is serving the Corder family.
