Willie Grey Brown Gibson

Mrs. Willie Grey Brown Gibson, age 96, of Pinnacle, North Carolina, passed away at her residence early Friday, May 30, 2025. Mrs. Gibson was born in Forsyth County, North Carolina on December 24, 1928, to the late Alton Edgar Brown and Minnie Kate Kiger Brown. She worked many years as an administrative assistant at Georgia Tech University and later retired from Dekalb County, GA. Mrs. Gibson was a faithful member at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church serving as a volunteer in the food pantry until its closing. Surviving Mrs. Gibson is her daughter, Susan Gibson; sister, Wanda Brown Sprinkle; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Woodrow Wilson “Bill” Gibson; brothers, Joe Brown and Gary Brown. A celebration of Mrs. Gibson’s life will be held Monday, June 2, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with Dr. Jonathan Casstevens officiating. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, Monday, June 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM until time of the service. Burial will follow at a later date, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband at Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Tucker, Georgia. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her special caregiver, Brandi Thompson and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and compassion shown.
