Woodrow Josh Craddock, Jr.

Mr. Woodrow Josh “Butch” Craddock, Jr., 74, of Dobson, passed away Monday afternoon, October 26, 2026, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Craddock was born June 15, 1952, in Rockingham County, one of three children born to the late Woodrow Josh Craddock and Lula Mae Jones Craddock Adams. Butch worked for many years as a pipefitter and welder and was a member of a welder’s union. He was a follower of Christ and a member of White Plains Friends Meeting. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson through the countryside. He is survived by five grandchildren, Elizabeth Craddock, Nicholas Craddock, Alleigh Craddock, Romy Craddock Roland, and Robin Craddock; three great-grandchildren, Jackson Shelton, Alex Shelton, and Lauralye Long; two sisters; and his extended family, Patricia Ball, Jeff Ball, the Rev. Dusty and Debbie Ball, Susan and Danny Shaffner, Jennifer, Shawn, and Isaiah Senter, Lindsey, Todd, and Hunter Ellis, and Tristyn Harris. In addition to his parents, Mr. Craddock was preceded in death by his stepfather, Hilton Adams. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 12:00 PM at White Plains Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Dusty Ball, the Rev. Jake Penley, the Rev. Ernest Brown, and the Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at the church.
