Zane Gray Hall

Mr. Zane Gray Hall, age 87, of Elkin, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born September 16, 1934, in Stokes County to the late Powell Henry and Ruby Bennett Hall. He was of the Baptist faith, and a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church. Gray retired from Moody Funeral Services, after over 40 years of faithful service at the Dobson location, serving hundreds of families and making countless friends over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lusenia Mounce Hall; sister, Lois Southard; four brothers, Richard, Jackie, Lonnie, and W.R. “Bill” Hall; sister-in-law, Frances Hall; and brothers-in-law, S.M. Southard, Jr., O.D. Hayes, and C.L. White. Mr. Hall is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Timothy Bowers; two grandchildren, Justin Bowers and wife Ashley, Ashley Bowers Queen and husband Billy; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Bowers, Hayden Queen, Asher Bowers, Hailey Queen, and Charlie Bowers; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen White, Shirley Southard and husband Rudy, Susanne Hayes, and Carolyn Williams; brothers and sister-in-law, John R. Hall, Wallace Hall and wife Sonja, Barbara Hall. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Joe Lambert and Reverend Bill Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Zephyr Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home prior to the service.
