Mr. Alexander Crotts, 80, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home. He was born in Carroll County on October 11, 1939 to the late, Jonah and Patty Rakes Crotts. Mr. Crotts proudly served our country in the United States Army, and was a faithful member of Blackwater Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Atkins Crotts; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Dewayne Sands, Gail and Ricky Nance, Tina and David Carter; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Cindra Haynes; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one on the way; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Frank Danley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie and June Crotts, Rev. Ted and Ann Crotts; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Crotts was preceded in death by sisters, Bertha Stevens, Ann Goins, and Polly Tolbert; a brother, Bobby Crotts. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Bro. Greg Hall and Bro. Dewayne Sands. Burial will follow in Blackwater Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.
